Mountain Brook won its 12th straight boys soccer game last week, downing Class 6A top-ranked Homewood 2-0.
The second-ranked Spartans got a goal from Jack Heaps — No. 21 for the season — and another from Eliot Walton for the victory.
Reed Harradine contributed his fourth straight shutout in goal as the Spartans remained undefeated in Area 9 play.
During the streak, Mountain Brook (15-2-2) has beaten Class 7A No. 4 Oak Mountain and No. 13 Thompson, Class 6A No. 4 Fort Payne, No. 6 Briarwood, No. 8 Southside-Gadsden, No. 12 Helena, No. 13 Springville and No. 16 Wetumpka, along with Class 4A-5A No. 12 John Carroll and Class 1A-3A No. 5 Tanner. There are also ties with Class 7A No. 1 Grissom and No. 6 Auburn.
The Spartans last loss came to third-ranked Pelham on Feb. 12.
Mountain Brook plays at fifth-ranked Chelsea (10-3-2) on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Second-ranked Vestavia Hills (16-1-0) won two games in Atlanta last week, beating Clarkston 3-0 and Westminster School 5-1.
Eli Jennings scored the first goal, his 17th on the season, against Clarkston while Parker Dennie scored the second goal and Henry Harlon finished the scoring with a goal.
Alexis Trujillo scored the first goal against Westminster for 1-0 lead then Lane Myers broke a 1-all tie with a goal. Dennie, Andrew Nelson and Jennings also scored goals in the game.
Fourth-ranked Oak Mountain (9-3-4) beat Hoover 5-0 and tied John Carroll 2-all.
Nate Joiner, Charlie Ball, Corbitt Grundhoefer, Sam Collins and Om Shrestha all scored goals against Hoover.
Gabe Capocci and Grundhoefer added goals against John Carroll while Luke Jovanovich had three assists in the two games.

Third-ranked Pelham (11-3-0) beat Calera 2-1 (7-6 in penalty kicks) on the road Thursday.
Cleber Esquivel scored off a free kick 4 minutes into the game and converted the first penalty kick in the shootout while keeper KJ Godwin stopped the seventh Calera penalty kick to end the game.
Fifth-ranked Chelsea (10-3-2) beat Briarwood 2-1 in in a double-overtime shootout.
Goalkeeper Brock Marlow had 5 saves plus another in the shootout while Kristijan Kapisoda scored a goal and Luke Miller had 9 interceptions and 5 tackles.
Eighth-ranked Vestavia Hills (7-2-4) beat No. 11 Thompson 4-0 and Hoover 2-0.
Anna Towry — she’s fresh off the Class 7A basketball championship game against Hoover — scored 4 goals for the week.
Towry had 2 goals against Thompson while both Suzie Woodruff and Lola McMillian scored a goal and Bella Wood recorded a shutout in goal.
Towry also scored 2 goals against Hoover and Wood recorded another shutout.
Seventh-ranked Briarwood Christian (5-3-2) beat third-ranked Chelsea 4-0 on Thursday.
Abigail Hoaglund had 2 goals while Piper Eighmy had a goal and assist, and Taylor Leib scored a goal.
Goalkeepers Savannah Sato and Sigourney Bell combined for the shutout.
No. 15 Helena (7-6-2) beat Chilton County 10-0 in area play.
RK Hulsey scored 5 goals with 2 assists, Bailee Washington had 4 goals and 3 assists, Olivia Hauge scored a goal and Miah Rosener had 3 assists.
Pinson Valley (1-0-2) beat Oneonta 4-2 as Jinya Murrel scored 2 goals.
Second-ranked Hewitt Trussville (13-1) posted a pair of shutouts, beating Thompson 10-0 and Class 6A second-ranked Cullman 6-0.
Riley Quick threw a no-hitter against Thompson with 8 strikeouts while Baker Green threw a 3-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts against Cullman.
Third-ranked Hoover (15-4) was 4-1 with wins over Miller School of Albermarle (Va.) 12-2, Hueytown 1-0, James Clemens 9-3 and Cullman 3-0, and a loss to Spain Park 10-4.
Andrew Batson was 7-for-13 with 2 home runs, a double, 4 RBIs, 8 runs and 6 walks while Lucas Steele was 6-for-15 with 2 doubles, a home run and 8 RBIs.
Jack Campbell pitched a complete-game 1-hit shutout in the win over Hueytown, striking out 8 and facing only 23 batters.
Tyler Wilson also pitched a complete-game shutout against Cullman, striking out 8.
Seventh-ranked Oak Mountain (10-6) beat eighth-ranked Vestavia Hills 7-4 and lost to Gardendale 3-1.
Davis Gillespie was 2-for-4 with a home and 5 RBIs against Vestavia Hills and also pitched 6-1/3 innings against Gardendale, allowing 2 runs and striking out 11.
Ninth-ranked Spain Park (14-4) was 3-1 with wins over third-ranked Hoover 10-4, Gardendale 5-1 and Chelsea 5-0 and a 3-1 loss to Thompson.
Michael Glick was 7-for-13 with 3 RBIs, and 2 runs for the week while Cole Edwards was 5-for-11, with 2 home runs, 3 RBIs and 4 runs.

Hannah Christian was 8-for-11 (.727 average) for the weekend, including 3 for 4 in both Chelsea and Scottsboro wins. Gracie Hillman was 7 for 11 (.636 ), including 4 for 4 against Chelsea, and she was 7 for 7 in stolen bases and scored 8 runs.
The pitching staff of Olivia Christian, Kailtyn Raines, Madysen Chaney and Emily Sims combined for an 0.840 ERA.
Oak Mountain (8-8-1) beat Homewood 10-2 and Chelsea 5-4, and lost to Spain Park 5-1 and Helena 13-5.
