Applications for the annual Neighbourhood Network Give Back Awards are open and, new this year, graduating students from Whitchurch-Stouffville can apply.
Graduating students from high schools in Aurora, Georgina, King Township, and Newmarket can also apply for The Give Back Awards — an annual $1,000 cash prize awarded to 20 graduating students who have demonstrated an outstanding dedication to community involvement.
Application are open until 4 p.m. on April 1, and are available online at nnetwork.org/GiveBackAwards.
“It is important for students thinking of applying to remember that this award is not based on the total number of community involvement hours collected but rather, the positive impact volunteering has had on you personally,” said Tanya Dennis, program co-ordinator for Neighbourhood Network.
“I love being able to celebrate all of these unique students and I believe that it is important to acknowledge their efforts and contribution in making our communities a better place, they are truly inspiring,” Dennis added.
Neighbourhood Network is not-for-profit division of Magna International Inc. that multiplies community giving and creates caring and vibrant neighbourhoods by promoting volunteerism, linking resources, and supporting local charities and agencies.
