The Health District of Northern Larimer County is seeking candidates for its upcoming Board of Directors election.
Four of the five board positions are up for election on May 3: Three 3-year director positions and one 1-year position. Candidates have until the end of the business day on Feb. 25 to file the necessary paperwork with the district.
The Health District of Northern Larimer County is a special tax district that provides dental, mental health, preventive health and advance care planning services in the area. It also helps people access more affordable prescriptions and health insurance.
To be eligible to run, you must be at least 18 years old, registered to vote in Colorado and reside in the health district, which covers the northern two-thirds of Larimer County. The district includes Fort Collins, Timnath, Wellington, Laporte, Livermore and Red Feather Lakes. You could also be eligible to run for the board if you or your spouse or civil union partner own property in the district.

Voting will take place May 3 at two polling places, the district office at 120 Bristlecone Drive and Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church at 4501 S. Lemay Ave. Voters can also sign up for a mail ballot at healthdistrict.org/2022-board-election.
If you want to run for a board position, download the candidate self-nomination and acceptance forms at healthdistrict.org/2022-board-election and drop them off at 120 Bristlecone Drive by 5 p.m. Feb. 25. The district recommends turning in the forms by 3 p.m. that day in case you need to correct any errors on the forms.
If you want to run as a write-in candidate, you’ll need to submit the write-in candidate affidavit of intent form by 5 p.m. Feb. 28. Again, the district advises turning in the form by 3 p.m. in case of any errors.
