Linda Hunt Wells (nee Jansenius) Linda H. Wells, retired Elder of MSC UMC, passed away on January 14, 2022, at home in Lakewood, Colorado surrounded by her loving husband, children and grandchildren. She earned her Master of Divinity Degree from the Ileff School of Theology, University of Denver, Denver Colorado after graduating with her bachelor’s degree from Mesa State College, Grand Junction, Colorado while also being a full-time parent. Linda became a Methodist Pastor and led her numerous Congregations with patience and humor. Linda was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the first of six children to Harry and Edna Jansenius. She attended high school at Mount Loretto until it closed and then graduated from St. Albert’s in 1967. She loved to sing and was often heard harmonizing with her sisters while they did the supper dishes. One of the Jansenius kids’ favorite outings was a trip to the old Council Bluffs Airport with their dad. Linda learned to fly there, following in her father’s footsteps, before she learned to drive a car. Once she did get her driver’s license, she most often had her youngest brother Mark along for the ride. Linda worked at Bud’s Hobby Shop, First National Bank and Hinky Dinky, where she met her first husband, David E. Hunt. They married after David completed a Tool and Die degree at Milford Nebraska, and had two sons, David Wayne and Jason. After “Big Dave” tragically died just after his 29th birthday, Linda married William J. Wells and moved west to a new life. Together Linda and Bill raised seven children, David, Jason, Carrie, Samantha, Donald, Robert and Christopher, and were blessed with fourteen grandchildren. Linda loved camping and spending time in the mountains. These last few years, Linda and Bill have traveled back to Council Bluffs at least a couple of times a year to enjoy time with family and friends, often at all day yard parties. Linda was smart, funny and kind. Although she had most of her life’s adventures with Bill and the kids in the western states, she stayed connected with her local family and friends. Linda is preceded in death by parents Harry and Edna Jansenius, Howard and Arlita Hunt, Robert L. Wells and Jean Wells Sager, brothers-in-law Bill Hunt and Louis Jacob and nephew and niece, Michael and Janelle McDermott. She is survived by her aunt Evelyn Kilnoski; siblings Vickie Petersen (Bruce), Debra McDermott (Michael), Jeffrey Jansenius (Claudia), Diane Munhall (Dale) and Mark Jansenius (Marie); brother-in-law Kenneth Hunt (Mary); sisters-in-law Elizabeth Jacob and Laura Hunt and twenty-four nieces and nephews. She will be missed. Please direct condolences and memorials to Bill Wells at 1811 S Union Blvd., Lakewood CO. 80228-3973. Services will be held this Spring or Summer.
